Book Giveaway: Bones of Faerie

It's March 1, which means it's my birthday month! To celebrate, I want to give YOU something. Once a week, for the next four weeks, I am going to be giving away a signed copy of a book I love.

This week, I am giving away a book that was one of my most anticipated titles of 2009--a book that totally lived up to all my expectations and excitement.

If you've been hanging around here for a while, you've probably heard me rave about this book. I reviewed it over here, but honestly, what's not to love about a Post-Apocalyptic YA Faerie Novel? (You can read Invasive Species, a short story that takes place in the same apocalypse, to give you a taste of what you have to look forward to.) And now you can have your very own copy, signed by the author (the fabulous, talented and wonderful janni!)

So here's how to enter:

(I'm going to try using HTML permanent symbols to get the HTML code for the font color to show up. I hope it works! I've never done it before... *crosses fingers*)

To turn the font white, you should put <font color=white> before the part you want to turn white, and </font> at the end. I thought it was a cool trick when I first learned it. :)

To be honest, I am not completely sure that it's the best solution to spoilers since it really does just turn the text white, not hide it in any other way. So, if you ever change the background color of your LJ, that text will suddenly become visible. (Or, hm, if someone is reading this post in their own style that doesn't have a white background, the text will also show up - I hadn't even thought of that before!) Still, it was the best I could come up with. :)

I wonder if there is a feature on LJ that lets you automatically change your text color to whatever the background color is, so that it would stay invisible forever... If there is, I don't know it.

I've never used LJ messaging, so I'm not really sure how it works... Is it like email, or like an instant messenger? We can take it to email, if you'd like. I'm at katyaz at katyaz dot net.
