The Puck in the Midden

I said it last year and the year before, and once again I find that my thoughts are still the same.

It doesn't matter whether I think abortions are right or wrong. It doesn't matter if I would have one myself.

What matters is that I have no right - nobody should have the right - to force beliefs on anyone else. Just as I do not have the right to force a person into church, or into synagogue, I also do not have the right to tell a woman that she must carry an unwanted child to term because I think God says so.

It doesn't matter what I would choose to do for myself.

What matters is that I have the choice.
