Beware the Ides of March!

I fenced epee again today, and I beat Leah, who's been fencing epee for 2 years. She said she's never seen anyone pick it up so fast, ever. Which is nice for my ego. But even better, I love love love epee. I love not having to worry about right of way, and I love being able to score a touch anywhere on the body. Malka and Yonit have oodles of black and blue marks on thier thighs from my touches - touches that don't ever count. Today, Esti had some on her thighs - from touches that scored. I love epee. If I stay on the team next year, I'm definitly switching.

I saw the zombie kid again today. This teeny little boy, walking with his dad, who walks just like a zombie - with his arms outstretched, lurching. Sometimes, his dad picks him up and straightens him out, and then he squirms and dashes off - walking normally - and then continues to zombie. I think this is the third time I've seen him this week.

I'm reading The Lodestar, and I knew from the start how things would turn out - that Henry Tudor would win at Bosworth, that Elizabeth York would marry him, that Richard would be killed, etc etc etc. But still. Even so, even so, when I saw printed "It was 22 August, 1485." I still cringed. I still murmured nonononononopleaseno. And still Richard died. And still Bosworth was lost, and still it hurt. Oi, my Richard.
