So. I'm feeling much, much better, all the powers that be be praised. I'm not all shivery sick anymore, I can swallow, my ear's stopped hurting . . . life is good. I'm still a little deaf in one ear - I think it's the ear drops's fault. If it hasn't gone away by tommorow, maybe I'll start worrying. You have no idea how annoying it is to be able to eat in the way of not being nauseaus anymore - in fact, actually being hungry! - but unable to eat because swallowing hurts. I have a newfound appreciation for swallowing. A shower helps, too.

Aside from that? I'm developing a newfound appreciation for Boiled in Lead. I just got my the CD i won off ebay in the mail - rather, it came on friday, but I just started listening to it, and it's lovely. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

And, I'm rereading Books of Magic and Sandman. Not much else to do when you're stuck in bed. Reminding myself yet again why I love Neil Gaiman so much.

Ever notice how when you're young you read something and you think it's wonderful, absolutely top quality fiction, and then you think fondly on it for many years until you actually reread it and find that it's really quite a terrible read? Blech. Slowly but surely I'm shattering all my childhood fiction illusions, this time with a piece of badly written fantasy called Dutchman. Ever read it? I thought it was incredible as a kid, around the age of twelve or thirteen - I have no idea what I ever saw in it, reading it now. It's awful.
