Gift? :raised eyebrows:
Jun. 20th, 2003 10:53 amAs I walked to work today, I noticed a news team outside the 42nd Street Library, and a whole mess of people crowded 'round the doors. Upon walking further past, I saw a sign:
"First signed copies of
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
arrive at 11am today:
J. K. Rowling's gift to the people of New York."
:snirch:
Am I the only one who finds this funny?

I will be content reading a plain old unsigned copy... I may even wait for the paperback version before I actually buy it. It took her so long to get this one out, how hard could it be to wait a few more months for a lighter, cheaper version I can more easily read on the subway?
