I want to know who compiled this list. I mean, I love Terry Pratchett to nubbins, but does anyone else think he's a tidbit overrepresented on this list? And - The Princess Diaries? Raymond Feist's Magician? :wince: And why is His Dark Materials a trilogy, when Harry Potter gets to be individual books? And is Holes suddenly popular because of the movie? (I would like to say that I read it and loved it long before the movie was a glimmer in anyone's eye. Well, anyone that I know, anyway.)

There also ought to be a catagory for books that I've meant to read, books that I want to read, books that are sitting on my bookshelf looking as me balefully that I ought to have read already.

This is a BBC list, and it seems to be dominated by British writers. I bet if the same list was compiled in America, it would be very different.

And I'm currently reading Love in the Time of Cholera, so I guess I'm following the (British) flock. :-)
