The problem with Western Civ is that the despised Western Civ textbook is so arduous and despised. Whenever I read the textbook, my first impulse is to want to claw my eyes out. Thus, by association, even when the class itself is perfectly innoccuous and interesting, every time I think about the class, I want to claw my eyes out.

That can't be healthy.

Which book? (On the very rare chance it's the same one I used in my history classes :) )

Western Civilization: The Continuing Experiance, Volume II (not to be confused with Volume B), by Noble, Strauss, Osheim, Neushel, Cohen and Roberts.

Why - is your history textbook miserable as well?

I had that text book last semester.
I barely used it. And I certainly didn't read the assigned readings in it. My roommate is taking Western Civ II this semester and she actually reads the assigned readings in the text book. I think ya'll are nuts. That kinda thing will just make you hate history.
