Book rec time!

All right, people, I want book recs. I'm looking for good things to read over the summer.

There are 80-odd people who read this journal, and most of you read a lot. I want at least one rec (though feel free to give me more) from each of you.

I'm looking for something I've never read before. It doesn't have to be SF/F - in fact, I think I'd prefer if it wasn't (not that you can't also recommend SF/F.)

Towel Day!

Happy Towel Day, everyone!

I picked out my towel this morning, and I've been carrying it all day. I wanted to carry my official YSU Movie Night on the Lawn towel (from Matrix on the Lawn) but I left it in school. Oh, well.

We were playing Risk, and I kindly informed my father and brother that no matter what they did, they would never be as hoopy a frood as me, because I knew where my towel was. My little brother, bless his soul, decided to remedy that, and ran upstairs to emerge with a towel for him and my father. Thus I spread the towel-carrying goodness.

I carried it to my brother's little league game, I carried it home again, and it sits on my shoulder now, where it will remain all day.

Another amusing props story:

This past week, on wednesday, my roomates and I went gallivanting around the city. We stopped at Walgreens to pick up munchies, and I bought ice cream in a box - and needed a spoon, which they didn't have. So on our way to the subway, we stopped at each of these little bodegas to ask them for a spoon. It was only after the fourth or fifth time that I came out saying "there is no spoon" that I realized what I was saying. Hee!
